Directions to Pawleys Island and Litchfield

The most popular route for our northern visitors to Pawleys Island is Hwy. 501 to Myrtle Beach, then south on Hwy. 17 Bypass. With the growth of Myrtle Beach and its increasing popularity as a vacation destination, this route often becomes congested in the summer months. We’re pleased to be able to provide you with a map and alternate routes you may take to miss the traffic around Conway and Myrtle Beach.

From Columbia, South Carolina, follow Hwy. 378 east to Hwy. 261. Proceed south to Manning, where you take Hwy. 521 south to Georgetown. From Georgetown follow Hwy. 17 north to Pawleys Island and Litchfield Beach.

Or you may take exit 190 from I-95 to Dillon, then follow Hwy. 301 south to Latta, where you take Hwy. 501 to the Marion bypass. Once past Marion, take Alt. 41 south to Rhems, where you turn left onto Route 51 to Georgetown. In Georgetown, follow Hwy. 701 south to Hwy. 17 and proceed north to Pawleys Island and Litchfield Beach.
